Delaware Muslims Saddened by Mina Incident

Muslims Community of Delaware is deeply saddened by the tragic incident at Mina on 10 of Dhul Hijjah, during which a large number of Hajj pilgrims lost their lives and several others suffered injuries.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un
Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

On behalf of the Islamic Society of Delaware we express our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased Hujjaj. May Almighty Allah SWT grant Shuhada of Mina, the highest status in Jannah and grant patience and strength to their families. We also pray for fast recovery of those injured in this most unfortunate incident. Allahumma Ameen.

Day of Arafah Wednesday - 9 Dhul Hijjah  (Sept' 23rd)

Virtues of the Day of Arafat

The ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah is the day of ’Arafah, since it is on this day that the pilgrims performing Hajj gather at the mountain plain of ’Arafah, praying and supplicating to their Lord.

It is mustahabb (highly recommended) for those who are not performing Hajj to fast on this day, since the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) was asked about fasting on the day of ’Arafah, so he said, “It expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.” [Related by Muslim ]
